The Shepparton Family Relationship Centre was opened on July 1, 2008 with CentaCare taking the lead role in a consortium arrangement with FamilyCare.
CentaCare and FamilyCare are organisations who have a long standing commitment to families and couples across the Hume region.
The head office of the Shepparton Family Relationship Centre is located in Shepparton. We service Loddon, Goulburn, Berrigan, Conargo, Deniliquin, Jerilderie and the Murray regions. We provide outreach to Bendigo, Deniliquin and will extend this to Macedon Ranges by mid year.
In order to service this wide ranging area, we are committed to and work with local groups and agencies to ensure that service delivery is of the highest standard.
Specific to our service is the ability to provide culturally sensitive and supportive structures for persons from Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
The staffing of the Centre consists of:
- Administrators – data and client services
- Family relationship dispute resolution practitioners
- Culturally and linguistically diverse liaison worker
- Indigenous liaison worker
- Family education practitioner
- Child inclusive practitioner
- Program leader
- Manager
Our service offers several layers of delivery. We seek to offer support, information and referral to the appropriate services. Where separation is imminent and children are involved, we have the ability to offer a comprehensive family dispute resolution service.
Our practitioners come from varying backgrounds and are committed to providing a responsive and unbiased service to the parties involved. We have family advisors who are able to provide information to people who choose to telephone us or visit the Centre. For more complex issues, we urge individuals to make an appointment to come in and discuss the issues at hand.
Outreach services are delivered to Bendigo, Deniliquin and Kyneton once a month. Please call the Centre to confirm times.
