Family Relationship Centre Adelaide

The Adelaide Family Relationship Centre supports families at all stages of their relationships, whether it is beginning new relationships, strengthening relationships, or when separating.

We are focused on helping separating parents to reach parenting agreements without going to court, we reduce parental acrimony and conflict, and assist parents to focus on their children.

We also connect people to the right services, support or personal education and skills training about any issue affecting their relationships. This includes mental health problems, gambling, family and domestic violence, relationship problems, and parenting or grand-parenting issues. We are conveniently located in Adelaide's CBD, at 161 Frome Street in a central and easily accessible location.

Trains and buses service the area and there are several public car parks located near by.

Family Dispute Resolution

If you are separated or in the process of separating, our Family Dispute Resolution service can help you and your former partner come to an agreement on parenting issues. Family Dispute Resolution is now compulsory for separating parents before commencing legal proceedings about the care of their children, although there are some exceptions particularly where safety is an issue. Before proceeding to Family Dispute Resolution, we will meet with you individually to discuss your situation. An appointment is needed for the Family Dispute Resolution service.

Whatever the issue or difficulty, you can call to talk to one of our Family Advisors or drop in to see us.

Children's Contact Service

Our Children’s Contact Service helps children to stay connected to all members of their family after a family separation. We provide a child focused, safe and confidential service for families who are finding it difficult to manage parenting arrangements.

We provide a changeover service for children and young people to be calmly moved between their separated parents or other family members by our workers. Or supervised contact visits which allocates blocks of time children spend with a parent or family member at the service. Visits happen with the supervision of a worker. They can be arranged when both parties agree on it, or if court ordered.

We can provide support and assistance to children before, during and after parental separation. iKiDs - Supporting Children After Separation is a service tailored specifically to help children.

Child Focused Information Sessions

Parents using our family dispute resolution service will also need to attend a Child Focused Information Session (each parent to attend a separate group session).
