Family Relationship Centre Fairfield

The Fairfield Family Relationship Centre is operated by the Resilient Families Group. A number of our family advisors and family dispute resolution (Mediators) staff are bicultural and have been employed not only for their professional skills but because of their ability to speak a variety of the local community languages, such as Arabic, Spanish, Greek, Russian and all of the former Yugoslavian languages.

The Resilient Families Group includes UnitingCare Unifam and Relationships Australia NSW.  Unifam manages the Fairfield Family Relationship Centre.

As much as possible we have a commitment to provide services to people in their own language as we believe it is hard enough to be resolving conflicts and worries without having to struggle with a language barrier as well.  We are currently translating information about our services into Arabic, Bosnian and Spanish.

At the Centre you will first meet with a family advisor who will spend up to an hour with you listening to your story and helping you to find the right direction to try and resolve some of your difficulties whether they are in your relationship with your children or with other members in your family.

We can assist you to get in touch with other services that can help you with counselling, family support or financial worries.  We think that at times of conflict and crisis it can really help to have someone outside of the family and even the community to talk to.

A family advisor will also arrange for you to meet with a family dispute resolution practitioner at our Centre if that is what you need. Family dispute resolution is a way that people who are finding it hard to agree on living arrangements for their children after separation work together with a professional who is experienced in assisting people to resolve their conflicts.
