Geraldton Family Relationship Centre

The Geraldton Family Relationship Centre provides a range of services to the community including Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) following separation & divorce, resources to support families, as well as being able to refer to other support services.

Centacare is the lead agency for the Consortium Geraldton Family Relationship Centre. The other members are Geraldton Resource Centre, Geraldton Regional Community Education Centre, Chrysalis Support Services and Midwest Men’s Health. The Geraldton based Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health has agreed to work in partnership on an action research group.

The Geraldton FRC covers the Midwest, Gascoyne and Murchison regions. Outreach centres are based in Exmouth, Carnarvon and Meekatharra.

The centre also offers education programmes for parents, separated family members, fathering after separation, grandparents support group for grandparents looking after children, relationship education, and other programmes related to family and relationship education and skills.

Services provided by the centre, include three hours of combined dispute resolution free of charge, with a fee being charged after this time in accordance with a sliding scale, dependant on circumstances.

The FRC also works closely with the Children’s Contact Service at Centacare for those families who request or need supervised changeover or contact visits. They can be contacted on 99211433.
