Gold Coast Family Relationship Centre

 

The Gold Coast Family Relationship Centre is located just across from the Ashmore City Shopping Centre and therefore in close proximity to public transport.

The Centre provides a welcoming environment which incorporates the four bold logo colours of Family Relationship Centres. The Centre’s spacious reception area includes a lounge waiting area, community brochures and parenting reference material plus a designated computer and telephone area for client use. 

To reflect a family friendly ambience, artwork contributed by students from local schools is displayed throughout the Centre, and there is also a children’s play area with toys and games.

The Centre is managed by Centacare Brisbane which has operated family relationship services for 50 years. Registered family relationship dispute resolution practitioners and an experienced child consultant provide services to Gold Coast families.

Since opening in July 2007, families from Kingscliff in the south to Beenleigh in the north and out as far as Boonah and Beaudesert have accessed the Centre.

Services include:

• information and support for families at any stage of their relationship
• referrals service for specific needs and requirements
• one-on-one interviews for separating or separated families to discuss options
• group information sessions prior to dispute resolution explaining the process and ways that parents can support children through separation
• child inclusive consultations with an experienced child practitioner to help parents understand their children’s needs prior to mediation
• dispute resolution (mediation) to help parents resolve conflict and agree on parenting  arrangements for their children, and
• when family dispute resolution is not successful, issue certificates to parents on request.
