Sunshine Coast Family Relationship Centre

The Sunshine Coast Family Relationship Centre is located at Maroochydore in Queensland.

The Centre serves an area which extends from Caboolture in the South to Gympie in the North, and covers the hinterland areas adjoining the coastal strip and includes such towns as Maleny, Cooroy and Mapleton.

The Centre has an outreach worker located at Gympie.

The other major areas within the catchment are served by community hubs which have been established with community organisations at Cooroy, Coolum, Maleny and Caloundra. The hubs act as information centres for the Centre and promote its services to the wider community.

The services provided by the Sunshine Coast Family Relationship Centre include information giving, referral and family dispute resolution. There are four dispute resolution practitioners employed at the Centre.

The Centre is auspiced by Lifeline Sunshine Coast and there is a close working relationship between the auspicing organisation and the Centre. That means that referrals for many other services which people may need can be provided quickly and seamlessly in many cases.

The Centre works collaboratively and has a community resources facilitator engaged in networking and liaison activities which are designed to forge sound working relationships with other organisations which provide other relevant services.

The Centre attempts to maintain a presence at community functions and events as one means of promoting its services to the wider community. Our Centre has a child inclusive practice and employs a child consultant. Each practitioner has undertaken training in child inclusive practice which ensures the best interests of children are paramount in the services we provide.
