Sunshine Coast Family Relationship Centre

The Sunshine Coast Family Relationship Centre (the Centre) is located at Maroochydore, the centre of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

The services provided by the Centre include information giving, referral to other services as necessary and family dispute resolution in appropriate matters.

The Centre is auspiced by Lifeline Greater Sunshine Coast and there is a close working relationship between the other programs which are provided by that organisation. Referrals for other services which people may need can be provided quickly and seamlessly.

The Centre employs a full-time Child Consultant and has a child focused practice which can, in appropriate matters, directly include children. The dispute resolution practitioners at the Centre are able to ensure that the best interests of a child are paramount in relation to any arrangements made by the parents.

The Centre also conducts parenting education sessions.

The Centre serves an area which extends from Caboolture in the south to Gympie in the north and covers the hinterland areas adjoining the coastal strip, including such towns as Maleny, Cooroy and Mapleton.

The Centre has an outreach worker located at the Lifeline Centre in Gympie.

The other major areas within the catchment are served by Community Hubs which have been established with community organisations at Cooroy, Coolum, Maleny and Caloundra to provide information to the local community and referrals to the Centre.

The Centre works collaboratively and employs a Community Resource Facilitator who engages in liaison and networking activities with other service providers to ensure that sound working relationships with external organisations and service providers, are established and maintained.

There is convenient ground floor access to the Centre and carparking is available nearby.
