Wollongong Family Relationship Centre

The Wollongong Family Relationship Centre is centrally located on Crown Street near the railway station and the shopping centres.

This Centre is operated by the Resilient Families Group which includes UnitingCare Unifam and Relationships Australia NSW. Unifam manages the Wollongong Family Relationship Centre. The friendly and professional team come from the diverse local communities and speak Yugoslavian and English. Through our staff we have close links to many other community services.

The Wollongong Family Relationship Centre is a warm and child friendly place and is regularly visited by men, women and children as well as families who are looking for advice, assistance and help including when families have separated.

Wollongong Family Relationship Centre can help you by providing information about family relationships at all stages – forming new relationships, overcoming relationship difficulties or dealing with separation.

What Services will the Centre Offer?

At Wollongong Family Relationship Centre we have family advisors available to assist with any enquiries you may have and can help link you into the many existing services in the community, including early intervention services that help prevent relationships from breaking down.

Wollongong Family Relationship Centre provides individual interviews for separating / separated parents to help them identify issues, options and to focus on the needs of their children. Group programs such as Transitions, Parenting after Separation and Keeping Child Focused are available for parents and grandparents.

We provide Joint Dispute Resolution sessions for separating parents to assist them in reaching agreement on parenting arrangements.

Wollongong Family Relationship Centre also offers an outreach service in Bowral providing services and programs to the Wingecarribee area.

Are the Services Free?

We provide information, referral and individual sessions free of charge. We also provide up to three hours of joint family dispute resolution sessions free of charge.

Do I need a Booking?

You don’t need a booking to get general information, including information about programs and services available in your local area that can help strengthen family relationships. For families who want help to stay together or assistance through separation, an appointment will need to be made for an individual interview by contacting the Centre on (02) 4220 1100.

We are committed to providing a safe environment and can put into place arrangements to assist with your safety or the safety of your children. You should let staff know if you have any concerns as soon as possible.
